SEDA Hosts Annual Luncheon in Montgomery
The Shoals Economic Development Authority held its annual appreciation luncheon in Montgomery on February 26, 2007.  SEDA welcomed the Florence-Lauderdale Port Authority as this year's co-host for the event.
Each year, a delegation from The Shoals travels to Montgomery to meet with and enjoy the association of the individuals who assist not only SEDA but many others in The Shoals to improve our area's economy.  This year's group included key state legislators from The Shoals, as well as representatives from local government, the Alabama Department of Transportation, the Florence-Lauderdale Port Authority, the Northwest Alabama Council of Local Governments, Northwest-Shoals Community College, the Shoals Entrepreneurial Center, the Tennessee Valley Authority, North Alabama Industrial Development Association, and SEDA.  The delegation enjoyed the opportunity to renew and strengthen existing relationships, as well as make new acquaintances.
At the state level, several agencies have helped The Shoals to grow and prosper over the past several years.  These agencies will also be essential to the future growth that we anticipate for our area in the years to come.  Lunch guests from the state included Alabama Lieutenant Governor Jim Folsom, Jr., as well as key personnel from the Alabama Development Office, the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs, the Alabama Department of Revenue, the Alabama Department of Environmental Management, the Alabama Department of Finance, Alabama Industrial Development Training, and the Retirement Systems of Alabama.
SEDA looks forward to working in partnership with all of the lunch attendees from both The Shoals and the state to push our area to new heights of economic growth and sustainability.  With the cooperative efforts of all, The Shoals' future certainly looks brighter with each year.
