SEDA SERVICES
The Shoals Economic Development Authority (SEDA) is a team dedicated to economic development
in Northwest Alabama, including Lauderdale and Colbert Counties.
SEDA provides site assistance to companies planning new or expanded facilities.
The Authority is a point of contact to the network of private sector and local, state, and federal
government entities that support a company relocation or expansion decision.
The Authority is organized as a public/private, non-profit organization funded by
local governments and area businesses. The SEDA staff has 57+ years in combined economic development,
which means that inquiries are handled professionally and with discretion. Services are provided without
cost to the company.
Site Selection Assistance
At the beginning of the site selection process, SEDA provides site information and
custom economic and business information based on the request by the company.
Shoals projects enjoy the support of an assigned staff or Board member whose task is to assure your
project develops as quickly and smoothly as possible.
If company representatives choose to visit The Shoals area, SEDA will structure an
itinerary based on individual needs, including review of appropriate sites. Along with numerous
local developers, SEDA offers build-to-suit services as may be required to make a Shoals area
site selection attractive. SEDA can arrange meetings with legal, financial, and other support
services and provide introductions to government and corporate leaders.
Existing Industry Services
Realizing the importance of existing industry, SEDA initiated an Existing Industry Program late in the
1980s. This program has become more important as the marketplace has changed to a global environment.
SEDA has dedicated staff to address existing industries needs and concerns, including expansions.
